I was up until 3am last night copying recipes to my very first recipe book. The gold recipes in the delicated frayed brown pages of our family recipe book relived alot memories for me. Wafts of delicious smells and aromas flew across my mind when Ummi and Kak Ila used these recipes time and again to feed me. These 30 year old pages brings back so many nostalgic moments. This is the food I grew up with people! 

While testing out the PA system in our house, my abah , ever so funny announced

"Aku terima nikahnya Sharifah Salwa binti Syed Abu Bakar"

Hahahha sweet much!

My dad, he rarely displays sweet gestures of affection. I guess he's the kind that feels awkward doing so as we're not really that sweet family type. Or maybe its a manly man thing? I dunno.. So he does so in his own way which is through his humor and jokes. Sometimes even when he scolds us, that shows how much he cares. However, my Ummi is the one, apart from my little brother, who gets the most of it. Be it in the form of excitement giving presents, food, or even hugs and kisses, its always such a joy to see when he suddenly bursts in this random acts of romance. Hahah.

I pray that one day I am blessed with a marriage that stills blossoms with romance and everlasting puppy love like my parents. Amin.
